Call for Contributions

Aims and scope

Exponential growth of data practically in all activity areas, the consolidating role to be played by informatics and IT for the development of methods and facilities for data analysis and management in various data intensive domains (DID), study of experience of such methods application and stimulating of their advancement serve as a motivation for this conference organization.

Main objective of this conference is to promote the acceleration of researches, improvement of their efficiency (quality and visibility of results, competitive ability) at the expense of the enhancement of methods and facilities for data analysis and management in DID. It is expected that the mutual complementarity of approaches in interdisciplinary DID will contribute to the creation of the corporate culture generalizing methods for data analysis and information systems development applicable in diverse DID.

Target audience

DAMDID conference is a multidisciplinary forum of researchers and practitioners from various domains of science and research promoting cooperation and exchange of ideas in the area of data analysis and management in data intensive domains (DID). For participation at the conference the specialists from such DID as X-informatics (where X = astro, bio, chemo, geo, medicine, neuro, physics, etc.), social science, economy, finance, etc., as well as specialists in the areas of statistics, informatics, data mining, machine learning, data science, new technologies and IT, business, etc. are invited.

Host organizers

  • Federal Research Center "Computer Science and Control" of RAS (FRC CSC RAS)
  • Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Moscow State University (CMC MSU)
  • National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (NRNU MEPhI)
  • Moscow ACM SIGMOD Chapter

Venue

The XIX International Conference “Data Analytics and Management in Data Intensive Domains” (DAMDID/RCDL’2017) will be held during 10-13 October 2016 in Moscow at the Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Moscow State University (CMC MSU). Information on transport and accommodation can be found at website. Two days before and after the conference It is planned also to organize in Moscow meetings and discussions with the conference participants at the institutes of the Russian academy of sciences, Moscow state university, Higher School of Economics as well as at the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (Photos of some buildings of these organizations pls. find below at the end of this section), along with some social program in Moscow.

Categories of submissions

The conference structure will include the plenary keynotes and tutorials presented by the leading researchers, regular sessions containing regular and short presentations of the research results obtained in various conference tracks, as well as demo/poster sessions. English and Russian are official languages of the conference with the synchronous translation. For young researchers the PhD Workshop is planned. Co-located with the conference the Satellite events are also planned including workshops (open and by invitation) and invited sessions. Paper submission rules and templates can be found at the website.

Conference topics

The open list of topics proposed for submission is organized in form of the tracks presented in the list given below (detailed characterization of each track can be found at the website).

Tracks of the sphere for data analytics and problem solving in data intensive domains (DID) Tracks of data management in DID Conference Proceedings

Conference Proceedings will be published locally before the conference as a collection of full texts of regular and short papers, abstracts of posters and demos, as well as in electronic form on the conference website. Texts of regular papers will be submitted for publication as post-proceedings in the European repository of the CEUR Workshop Proceedings (usually the papers published in CEUR WS are indexed in Scopus).

Furthermore, a volume of post-proceedings with selected papers from DAMDID/RCDL’2017 will be published as a post-conference proceedings volume in the Springer's Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS, http://www.springer.com/series/7899).

DAMDID/RCDL has been publishing with Springer in CCIS since 2016. Previous proceedings are available at http://link.springer.com/openurl.asp?genre=issue&issn=1865-0929&volume=706.
